Dropbox Design Systems and AI
Content Design Lead, 11/2023-7/2025

Design principles I brought to this project:
• Meet our internal users where they are
• Promote adoption without being tyrannical
• Approach strategy and alignment holistically to improve the dropbox user experience at the systems level

As the first Content Designer on the Design Systems team, I reported to the design director, and worked with engineering managers, TPM, and a team of 6 engineers and 6 product designers to align and scale our content and product design systems. In this role, I improved the overall systems for our internal users and created a strategy to implement a unified design system for Dropbox on ZeroHeight.

Additionally, I created and implemented a Slack AI chatbot with the Dropbox ML/AI engineering team. This chatbot was incredibly well received. Hundreds of chatbot users across all disciplines use the tool, and in turn this saves Content Designers more than 4,000 hours per year answering basic style and design questions and writing basic strings. The AI chatbot helped scale Content Design in ways we’d never been able to before. Teams that don’t have a Content Designer can ask the AI chatbot how to write a banner, a modal or an error message—in seconds, they have copy that accurately reflects Dropbox style guidance, voice, and tone.

Monitoring the bot also helped me identify misalignments in language, establish patterns, and find gaps in content strategy. In 2024, I was honored when the AI chatbot was included in the 1 Million Hours Saved Initiative at Dropbox.

Working with the Design Systems and ML/AI teams and getting so much accomplished was really exciting for me. I was really proud of the work we did together, and happy to be the driving force for alignment and change.
